As I recall, a 220g canister just barely fits into the kettle itself, so I wasn't expecting any miracles there. (As an aside, on a weeklong trip I'd usually carry two 110g canisters rather than a 220, knowing that I'm paying a 4 or 5 ounce weight penalty. As an official member of the Nervous Nellie Society, I always told myself that, if I had a problem with a valve on one, I still had the other. There are lots of holes in that argument, but it made me feel better. Rationalization - one of mankind's top four inventions.)

I want to use my penny stove and my Fosters pot later this year to get some time in with alky stoves. Just bought a SP GS100 for $25 on evilbay, used once.

The real penny's flame pattern is too wide for a foster's can, the small versions yes, although they don't prime as easy with the narrow flame pattern, imo.

phat, the eBay seller had a wick wrapped around it, but a small can. No one else bid, a well spent $2.50 or whatever. I ran it a few times in the garage, went well this Fall.

Now THAT is a good deal. The GS-100 is one of my absolute favorite modern gas stoves. It's a little heavier than a MicroRocket, and it's not quite as compact, but it's a really good stove.
