I bought a lot of backpacking gear locally that included a Primus stove. It takes a butane can model 2210. It is the size of a can of hair spray. The modern larger diameter cans do not fit, but use the same Lindal valve?

Is there anywhere that I can buy the cans of butane? As an alternative, is there a source for a line with fittings that could be used to transport the fuel from a modern can to the stove?

How old is your stove? I have a Primus Micron that is 6 years old and fits any canister with a Lindahl valve. I have never used Primus brand fuel. Isobutane works a lot better in cold weather than does butane, whose boiling point is above freezing. I generally use MSR fuel with my Primus Micron, although I've also used Jetboil or Snow Peak on occasion. Ignore the manufacturers' claims that you have to use the same brand fuel as the stove--they are just trying to make more money. wink Lindahl valves are the (almost) universal standard.

Do they look like these?

catering stove fuel

If so, restaurant supply and kitchen appliance stores carry them.

Cheers,

The only problem is that the MSR and Jetboil cans are to wide. The stove has a cap that goes over the top of the can. The MSR and Jetboil's don't fit.

Cheers,

Yes that is the form factor. I will check to see if it has the same valve. Thanks
