I'm just getting into lightweight backpacking, and I stumbled across this sleeping bag for cheap on craigslist. Only problem is that the seller doesn't know what kind it is except for a North Face rated to 20 degrees, and I want to make sure I'm getting a good deal. Can someone please identify it for me?

Blue Kazoo?

I don't know the many variations of that model, which has been around since dirt was new, but this one looks flat as a board. Could be the lighting, but I'd ask for the seller to measure total loft before going any further.

Cheers,

Rick

Hmmm... I second Rick_D's suggestions. And dang it does look flat and rather worn out.

I'll chime in with a third on the other's suggestion. Almost certainly a flat synthetic.

Don't know what it is but I would not want to take it to 20 degrees.
