Bones found near trail are human

Heavy stuff. I once found some human femurs on a tiny island with ancient totem poles. They're probably so old that no-one's looking for them. People's hair stick up on their necks when they visit that place.

A man I knew in my teens (I went to school with his kids and we attended the same church) disappeared in the Sierra Nevada years ago. No one knew what happened, and eventually somebody found a jawbone. Turned out to be his. I have always wondered about the folks who found that bone, what it must have been like. Sobering.
