Thanks for sharing! I have a sony nex camera too, the nex-6 not the a6000, and yeah all those apps are fun, I have the time lapse app and well and it's nice but really hard to get perfect! And you only have once chance! lol. Especially true for star trails. I set it right before bed and in the morning I see if I set the exposure right or not. That's what I did in Yosemite last summer, and when I woke up in the morning all I had was a dead battery and nothing to show for it. It doesn't help that I use old Nikon prime lenses, dumb lenses, without the computer chips that let the body control the lens's aperture and focus.
