Tent washing - 06/28/15 05:30 PM

Last weekend we pitched our rent in the rain, in the dark and unfortunately, situated it in an area of run-off. The floor leaked pretty badly, and the the whole bottom was fairly caked in mud splatter . So now we have to wash and re-coat the bottom of the tent, a Sierra Design Stretch Dome that has been bomb proof to this point as our winter and car camp shelter. We use a foot print, but it's obvious the floor PU has worn out. Any and all suggestions and tips gladly accepted.

Depending on how gone the coating is, you may be able to restore the leaky bits with "Tent Sure"

Good luck!

Thanks, Rick, that looks like a pretty straight forward fix.

Kinda bringing this post from the grave but I recommend putting silicone base lube on your zippers if you don't already as well.

Used the Gear Aid Tent Sure on the floor as per instructions and it worked perfectly. No stickiness and its waterproof-ness has been restored. Thanks for the suggestion.
