Beautiful weekend in the northeast...any plans?

I already know that my mother's day is shot but I have every intention of getting outdoors this weekend with my son and doing SOMETHING...bikeriding, geocaching, hiking, perhaps even paddling.

Anyone else have any special backcountry plans this weekend?

Being retired, I go out weekdays and avoid the weekend crowds (yes, you too have something to look forward to!).

It's also beautiful weather in the Pacific NW, and I expect that Dog Mountain in the Columbia River Gorge will be standing room only, with cars parked up and down the highway. The upper wildflower meadows should be at their peak for the weekend! Everything seems to be 2-3 weeks early this year because of our unusually warm winter.
