Here is the note she sent me after addressing the United Nations yesterday...

Wow, congratulations!

Mine got dressed by herself this morning, mostly without help.

Cheers,

Wow!

What was her topic?

She was addressing the Commission on the status of Women. She's advocacy director for Planned Parenthood International, so most of what she said referred to the Beijing protocols of fifteen years ago. She pointed out that everyone had endorsed them, and yet in many places they had not been implemented.

(basically, all this talk is wonderful, but how about actually doing what we said we were going to do!)

Wow is right!

I'm proud of your daughter too!

No small task she took on there, and her speech was very well crafted.

She's fighting a tough battle. It's tougher now than it was 40 years ago, which is just stunning, and sad. But it's really encouraging to see her at the U.N. no less, fighting. Honestly, it makes me proud of her too.

Thank you for sharing this.

You have every reason to be proud. She sounds very passionate about her job, and is not afraid to speak her mind. You raised her right. Congratulations.
