MRS Reactor Stove on airplane

MRS Reactor Stove on airplane - 08/12/11 01:06 PM

In the past I took my MRS Pocket Rocket along in checked luggage and didn't have any issues. Now that I'm having the Reactor stove I was thinking of taking that along. But with the larger burner I'm wondering if fumes dissipate well enough that TSA won't give me issues.

Maybe washing it would help but I'm not sure if that's OK for the burner element.

Any insights?

FYI, this is the relevant TSA guideline:

I would not check it as there is a possibility that the TSA will remove it from your checked baggage and when you arrive at your destination you will be sans stove. For that reason, I pack it in my carry-on so if there are any concerns, I am there to answer them. To date, we have not had any issues with stoves. Just try to make sure they don't have any associated fuel smell.
