Galena Territory

Wife ad I are off too Galena Terratory for the weekend. This is the annual Christmas Urban Trek! Happy Trails all!

Where is that? I've winter camped at a park called "The Mississippi Palisades" once. It's not far from Galena, Il.

Man was it ever cold the two nights I spent there. Windy too. The tent walls were rattling all day and night. Cloudy too. Probably the three darkest days I've ever seen.

I had fun though. I wasn't alone either and she kept us nice and warm and we had great view of the "Big River" the couple of times we peeked out of the tent

Yes we camp at the pallisades a few times a year as well. Galena is about 40 minutes north of Savanna. Next town norh of Savanna is Hanover watch for tourist sign that points to Chestnut MT ski area, turn left there and stay on Blackjack road to Galena. A beutiful drive on Blackjack rd!
