Massanutten Trail, Va - 06/05/09 12:02 PM

Getting ready to hike the Massanutten Trail this week. This will be my first extended hike; well, more than three days. Going to take my time to get some pictures. Anyone else done this trail? My friend has a map with all the water sources on it so should be groovy with H2O. Any certain vistas that I should not skip? Anything at all I should not skip?

In a section hike of the Tuscarora Trail, I hiked the eastern end of the Massanutten Trail a few weeks ago. Lovely, just lovely. Vistas galore. I suspect it would be hard to actually miss the views, my advice is to try really hard not the miss the incredible glory right in front of you - tiny seasonal flowers, immense fern beds, ancient rock outcroppings, hawks getting a free ride on the air currents . . .
