I got the Harmony House TVP sampler pack and have been wondering about lunch options. Several years ago Adventure Foods (now gone) sold FD chicken and tuna with individual mayo packs to make chicken or tuna salad. It was a good lunch option. I have not been able to find the FD tuna other than pet food. I was wondering about the chicken TVP with mayo if it soaked for a while. Anyone tried it?

Also there is Taco TVP and I was wondering about that soaked and placed in a tortilla shell with ??? added.

I can do some experimenting but I was wondering if anyone else has tried it.

Haven't tried the HH TVP varieties, but TVP can cause a lot of gas and bloating. If you want FD chicken and other meats, check out tbe Valley Food Storage line. Also, canned tuna, salmon, and poultry are easy to dehydrate at home, and nearly as easy to re-hydrate for any meal. Consider salmon salad or chowder, tuna salad or pasta salad (ramen noodles), etc., for quick meals.

Packit Gourmet sells FD chicken, sausage, ground beef and roast beef, no tuna though. They've got all sorts of FD items, as well as other trail food, including meals. I've used them a lot in the past, have never been disappointed.

Experimenting at home seems like the most obvious way to get a grip on whether you'd find that meal palatable.
