Some snaps from the other side of the world. - 10/03/08 12:01 AM

Just some photos from walks that I have done.

Ahearn Lookout - Nattai National Park.
Looking south along the Nattai River Valley. Relatively easy 12km round trip but if it wasn't for the fact your mobile (or cell) phone still works you would think you were a million miles from anything.

Eagle Rock - Royal National Park.
At the end of Curra Moors Trail or halfway along the middle section of the Coastal Track is Eagle Rock. Great natural feature.

Waratah in flower - Dharawal SCA.
Waratah in full flower.

Another Waratah in flower - Illawarra Escarpment.
Closer shot of a lovely Waratah.

Matilda Tank - Dharawal SCA.
WW2 Matilda Tank that had been modified to work as a bulldozer for clearing trails in this area before it was saved and turned into a Conservation Area. Looks like it broke down and was stripped of parts and just left. Had no idea where it was and one day while exploring the area we just walked right up to it.

I hope you like them.

Cheers,
Michael (AussieBushwalker)

Very nice. Beautiful country. Diving the GBR is on my long list. Never though about the hiking. I may have to plan enough time for both.

Great pix, Michael. Beautiful sights. And really liked that Eagle Rock shot.

I'm with scottyb on this one - I've looked forward to the Great Barrier Reef, but never thought about hiking out there. After that first pic of yours I started thinking about it...
