I use a carbonlite kayak [Eddyline] when in Yuma and it's stable in the heat. Kevlar is stable, too, but more expensive.

I flew into central Saskatchewan, hitched a ride with an Indian and rented a canoe. Up there they only use aluminum canoes because the thin ice will cut through laminated canoes.

I hope that wasn't a royalex canoe <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />
