Lightweight equipment, especially, is near and dear to cyclists - be they mountain bikers or cross-country tourists. Here in this forum, share your peddling equipment and experiences.

Thanks for this addition.

Presently I only do commuting by bicycle (a meager 7 miles one way) but hope in the future to do some biking trips.........

It is clear to me that what I have learned over the years myself and from these forums will help in bicycle trips...........

My next favorite addiction next to backpacking. I love bikes and have not got off of them since I was 6 yrears old. To me they spell freedom. I raced up untill last year where I then took a year long sabbatical from it. Now I am back into it again but more on a non competitive angle (I acutuallay sit up and look around and not hang out in the drops all the time). I have dedicated myeself to bike communting and only and I do mean only drive the car if I have to. Round trip for me back and forth to work is 22 miles. 11 of hill climbing and then 11 of great decent afterwork. But I also ride every where lese so right now I am getting about 20-60 miles a day in. I am in the process of building an official bike commuter bike because doing it on my racing bike with a trunk rack is killing me and my bike. I will post pics of the build when done, should be in about a month or so. I have been trying to ride across America for about 20 years now and never have gotten the chance but want to make a point of doing it in the next 2 years or so.
So thank you so very much for the new addition, it is a welcom breath of fresh air. Thank you so much.

Pleased to see it ... very topical too, given my current interests.

Found these sites the other day:

Adventure Cycling

Ultralight touring

Carousel - rackless touring luggage

The couch bike ... not really UL but very cool.
