Well, you rack up quite a bit. I though of sharing it but I think I am better off keeping it quiet and let everyone assume ;-)

I don't count any more. I used to actually get paid to ride a bike but now I only race occasionally and the bike is mainly a cross training device for running.

For the last four years or so, since I turned 70, I only do about half that distance.

I thought I might find a few folks who knew about two-wheeled transportation. If you ever get to the Napa Valley, give me a shout. I'd be happy to show you around if I'm not on an airplane somewhere...

I do about 3000 miles/year on my recumbent. A lot of it’s to work; and some of it on bike trails.

Recumbent eh? Does that mean you have a beard, are over 55, and wear levis while you ride?

Just kidding!

Re: Miles per year - 04/09/10 02:11 PM

Now that you mentioned it, most people I see on recumbents do have a beard!!! Unless they are women of course. Then again I don't think I ever saw a member of the fair sex on a recumbent.

I do a couple of spinning classes in per week in the gym. The scenery is.......motivating. Does that count?

I do maybe 2500-4000 per year (depends on the year) with most of it on a mountain bike and a few hundred on the road bike.

So with a little luck in my schedule today, I should go over 1800 miles for the year so far...ahead of schedule!

i own 2 road bikes(work) and 1mtn bike, for work alone i calculated 8944 miles a year give or take a couple hunderend miles, then recreationally/shopping about 1200 miles, its prob more than that but ill leave it at that.

swimswithtrout-
a road bike is one of those thin wheel bikes and the handles curve down and back, its good for fast riding and racing(on road ofc) but the downside is it does NOT do well with bumps and sidewalks on the road so if you have a shitty road or prefer sidewalks dont get a road bike
