Kind of a Newbie for backpacking definately here.

Hello everyone. Just flew in and decided to check ya'al out. Love the site. Looks like fun and informative.
I'm looking forward to meeting you and maybe making some new friends.
I packed in the Sierra's back in the '70's and 80's but not since then. Last year was the first I have in that many years. I spent 9 days down in the Shawnee National Forest in June of '07 and had a ball so I decided to continue. My next goal is to do The Wind River Range in late August early Sept. of this year.
I hope to learn about cutting down the weight while here.
