Hello from Maryland

Good evening, all. I'm Jessica from Maryland and mom of 3 boys. I would love to get into backpacking and do longer hikes without the boys and thought this would be a great forum to join to get started and meet fellow hikers.

I look forward to meeting the other members here and gaining more info on backpacking.

Jess, I'm sure you'll be welcomed by all here. All you have to do here is ask, no matter what your level of experience, and you'll probably get more than one response. Pretty friendly people here.

As far as Maryland goes, I'm sure someone if not several here are from that area.

Three boys huh? My mom was a single parent with three boys for a few years. I can see now how some longer hikes without them could do you a whole lot of good.

In the meantime, pack `em like mules and make them march!!!

Just kidding, sort of... I would have loved to have done that with my mom and brothers.
