New member, long time hiker!

Hi all, been backpacking now for 20 + years, but have yet to sign up to a forum. I reciently have been upgrading my gear and found this site usefull, so I decided to join. I live in eastern sierras and hike tons. Since having a kid my backpacking trips dwindled but now he's of the age (9) to get started. We are heading into the sierras next weekend for a 3 day 2 night trip! I can't wait.

Welcome! Nice to hear you're passing along the love of hiking - or at least giving your child the exposure to it, so they can discover that love on their own.

My son and I have day hiked since he could walk, just this year he shown great interest in overnight hikes so who am I to deny him?
