Tall skinny rainpants?

Tall skinny rainpants? - 06/13/12 10:17 PM

My new job is involved with conservation work and I've been stocking up on gear. The main issue is that I am very tall and skinny and am looking for rainpants. I have a 32" waist and a 38" inseam. Now, Colombia looks semi-promising, with a 36" inseam and 36" waist but that is less than ideal. Any suggestions?

This may not be the place for this but I was unsure of where to put it.

This is as good a place as any...but you've got aproblem. Most manufacturers are pretty loosy goosy about rainwear, and I think it will be hard to find something off the rack that will fit.

I'd take those 36x36 and see if I couldn't tailor them down a bit...seal the seam again and they would still work...

As one who sews, it is easier to buy the proper fit with respect to waist/hip size and then buy some waterproof nylon at the fabric store and add inches to the length.

Another option is to put up with short length and wear gaiters.
