FS: Lightweight prototype pack - 04/23/17 02:44 PM

For Sale, home-made prototype lightweight pack of approximately 2400 cubic inches volume. The main body is made of coated 1.8 oz. rip stop, the extension collar is 1.3 oz. silicon nylon and the back panel (the black part) is coated nylon taffeta. The pack weighs just less than 11 oz. on my scale. The shoulder straps and hip belts are padded with 3/8” closed-cell foam. The two bottle pockets are of 1.8 oz. coated rip-stop and the front pocket is a nylon mesh. The top closure is a dry-bag, roll-top type coupled with an over the top center strap. There is an internal sleeping pad pocket with a Velcro closure flap and a small Velcro closed key pocket. There are no provisions for stays. The pad pocket is cut to fit a folded Thermarest Prolite 3, Short, sleeping pad about 1.5 inches thick when folded..

My torso length is about 19” and this pack is cut a bit short for me; it will better fit a 17-18 torso. The shoulder straps and hip belt straps are cut to fit me at 5’ 9” tall and 170 pounds with very little excess.

The pack has traveled about 60 miles, has a few scuff marks and has accumulated a fine sheen of Arizona dust and dirt but is otherwise in like-new condition.

I’m asking $40 plus shipping. Send me a PM if you are interested

That sounds like it would make a good summer pack for me, and the fit sounds about right, except that I'm very thin. My waist is between 27 - 31 inches depending on the number of burritos I've been eating lately. Do you think it would cinch down that small?

Plus, I need to discuss budget with the boss. Watch this space.

I just measured the adjustment straps that fasten the hip belt and at 27" the tips of the padding pieces just touch and the belt will fasten. So, the hip belt padding will completely encircle your waist if you are at a 27" waist. But, the belt is supposed to rest on the top of your hips which is presumably larger in diameter. My waist is 35" and there is not a lot of extra strap for me. Have a few more burritos and then a chimichanga or two; the pack will fit for sure😀.

I won't be able to buy it. Good luck finding someone who will.
