Home burglary

I was unable to find my original post about my home being burglarized. After two years the first of two defendants has taken a deal.

1. 810.02 2b/BURGLARY OF A DWELLING ARMED WITH A FIREARM on 5/31/2013
Adjudication: ADJUDICATED GUILTY 7/14/2015

Not sure what that means, but hopefully they're making complete restitution.

I anticipate there will be no restitution. I looked up (google-stalked) the defendant's history and learned he has been ordered to pay restitution before. By the looks of the payments he gave what was in his pocket at the moment and never made another payment.

Fortunately Allstate treated me right.

It's kind of hard to decipher but the line beginning with 'confinement' indicates a sentence of 15 years.

I suspect that if he's going away for 15 years, he'll have no means of paying restitution. Still, it's great that he won't be doing any more burgling for a while.

The second of the two defendants finally took a deal.

6 years, 11 months, two years credit for time served so close to five years left to serve. I saw the local county booking report this morning and she is on there facing new charges. Early on the detective in my case said that once they were locked up the various counties would take their time getting the charges right, no need to rush.

Glad to hear they got caught and will serve some time. I don't have much sympathy for those who break and enter and steal someone's stuff. That looks like a pretty stiff sentence to me, so they didn't get off easy
