Howdy Y'all,

My name is Bear but all my grand kids know me as Papa Bear.

I am 65 years young and have been UL backpacking for several years. In the Boy Scouts of America I am a Basic and Advanced Backpack and Winter Camping Instructor for adult leaders and the older youth. I don't have as much BP mileage as some of you but I have passed my 7,000 mile mark this year. I climbed Mt Whitney for my fourth time last year after climbing White Mountain and two weeks before did a two week backpack at the Philmont Scout Base in New Mexico. I took most of this year off due to a burn injury but I am ready to get back in shape for the winter season and a long BP trip next year.

All my family knows that I have not started my secound childhood because I have never left my first one!

Welcome to the forum, Bear.

We've got many UL backpackers, some guys who are active in scouting, and a fair number of old timers, too, so you should have a lot in common with our other members. We can always use another perspective.
