Garmin 60CSx topo map for OR/WA - 08/02/08 10:36 AM

I recently ordered a 60CSx (should be here tuesday) and was wondering if any GPS experts would want to express an opinion on this map card. OR/WA is probably 90% of my hiking. Garmin topo 24K OR/WA

I upgraded to the 60CSx this year, and went with the TOPO 2008 CD. It is only 1:100,000, but you get the benefit of creating waypoints and routes on your PC and transferring to your GPS.

Thanks for responding. This is my first GPS and I am still kind of in the dark even after spending too much time on many, many GPS sites.

How do you like the 60csx so far? Mine got a fix on 5 satellites from inside my apartment. Is the Topo 2008 working for you? Have you done any cross country/off-trail travel with it so far?

Could you create waypoints and routes on USGS 24K scale maps on the PC and transfer that info to the Garmin topo GPS 24K maps?

Thanks for your time and welcome to the site. hafdome
