Brunton Solar Roll 14

i have a solar roll 14 and a lenovo laptop (unfortunately necessary to document an excursion)...anyone have firsthand use in the field? The solar roll seems to charge normal batteries fine and i bought a DC to DC car adapter made specifically for the lenovo....anyone have success? just need to charge when it is off- not run it.
