Animals are afraid of fire. It's to keep bears from attacking. Another instance of multi-use . . . You don't need to bring bear spray anymore!

if you skied you might find a use for it, but its kinda expensive as torches go. Frankly most any compressed gas stove can get used as a torch. I've used a Bluet to light a campfire in a rain.

But if you are bringing a coffee maker on the trip, then by all means do bring the creme brulee.
