What great news. I can't wait to hear her story. Missing hiker found after nine days.

Having been in Yosemite this week I can attest hypothermia was no threat, at least. But dry...so very dry.

Some additional details on Miyuki Harwood. Took a big fall and did what she needed to survive, despite a broken leg, ankle and vertebrae.

We've probably all taken "short"cuts that weren't. Sometimes they can backfire dramatically.

The responsibility of the group, especially the group leader, is to make sure that all members of the group are accounted for at all times. Also to make it very clear to the members that they can't go off and do things on their own. I understand that the Sierra Club has pretty strict rules about this, as did the club I once belonged to for several years.

Of course this may be easier said than done which is why I gave up on groups many years ago!
