Mo Udall's son recovered from the Winds

Sad to report James Udall has been found dead in the Wind River range after not returning from a weeklong solo trip there. No info yet on the cause of death.

Westerners especially will recognize the Udall name as synonymous with western environmental struggles for many decades. My condolences to the family.

I now (grudgingly) tote the half-pound Delorme InReach because it just might make the difference in surviving some kind of backcountry emergency. I owe my family that much.

Recovery of the body means a larger chance for closure. A piece will always be missing from the survivors, but knowing what happened may help. What more needs to be said? Good on you Rick...and be careful out there.

That is sad. I read a couple days ago that he was missing out there. I was hoping he'd be found alive and well enough to recover. The article says he died from natural causes. Though he was too young, I hope his family can find comfort in knowing he died while doing what he loved.
