Down Bags and Bivys?

Down Bags and Bivys? - 06/29/08 05:54 PM

I'm getting a ID micro eVent bivy. A buddie wants the TI Goat bivy. Is a down bag a bad idea? Will it absorb to much moisture???

Thanks

I've used down and bivies for 10+years and never had a problem. That's in the Smokies in all but the warm hammock months.

from my understand eVent is waterproof and heavier vs. TiGoat is "water resistant" so much lighter but I would NEVER use it as a sole shelter. It is meant to complement a tarp as well as add a little extra warmth to your bag.
