water filter

Anyone know if I can clean my filter by pumping a bleach solution through it?Like some water with a cap full of bleach.Any feedback is always appreciated.

I've done it, but with a weaker bleach solution (1 tsp. per cup of water), then rinse thoroughly afterwards and leave the filter in the open air in a dry place for several days. I do this before winter storage. It's probably better if your pump has a way to flush the filter backwards. I have no idea how much good this does, but I haven't had any moldy filters yet. Comments or criticisms welcomed!
