One thing--this model turned out to be undersized; I've read that it's more like 40 L, which is why SMD redesigned the pack (the same is true for the larger model, about 10 L undersized). So be sure it fits you and your gear!

I bought a Six Moon Designs pack on sale (another discontinued model, the original Comet) back in 2006. It fits as though custom made for me and is still going strong. I suspect it's going to outlive me!

Seems like a nice pack and I'd be tempted but I need to be able to carry a bear cannister and I don't like tying them to the outside: maybe there is a comfy and secure way to do it but I haven't found it

I am pretty sure you can fit a smaller canister (BV450 or Lighter1 Sami) inside.

Mine arrived. Looks well made. Seems to fit pretty good although I have only tried it on empty. A deal at $100 for sure. I'll give it a little review once I take it out.

I ordered a frame to be set for Large, but mine came preset at Middle. Not too difficult to change it to whatever setting you need, once you notice it.

I like mine very much. Great size, just right for me. Fits to my body as if I was born with it (after all appropriate adjustments were made). Haven't tested it on the trail, so cannot comment on it. External pocket isn't as big as those mesh pockets of Gossamer Gear G4... - I couldn't fit my 10x12 Home Depot Blue Tarp into the outside of the pack, but I hopefully don't plan to need to carry it with me much longer. Dedicated set of straps for carrying a pad... - when my new pad arrives, I'll see how well it rolls and how well those straps hold it.

First impressions - I really like it. Gossamer Gear G4 had a few things that I miss already (big mesh pockets, and straps for attaching snow showel / hiking poles), yet at the same time - one always can put those things into a side pocket, no big deal.
