ESBIT: Simmering and Ultralight Baking - 04/19/13 01:04 AM

I've been testing an ESBIT stove, the Epicurean Ti, that not only can be used for boiling water but also for low, steady heat applications like simmering and ultralight baking.

I've found the Epicurean Ti to be a really easy to use ESBIT stove that simmers well without any trouble.

If you're interested in having a few flame options other than just "high" or you find the idea of ultralight baking intriguing, check out the Epicurean Ti ESBIT stove.

It makes some really first class muffins, biscuits, and cakes.

Good info, thanks! I have been using a cat food alcohol stove that works pretty well, but seems like esbit would be easier to transport than liqiud alcohol.Plus the option to control the heat level is good also. Thanks for posting.

The Epicurean comes well tuned, right out of the box.

Here's the Epicurean in high mode:

And in low mode:

The setting of the stove (high mode vs. low mode) makes quite a difference. The low mode works really well for baking.
