Merrely Wilderness Waterproof?

Newbie here!

Any comments on how water proof, or repellant, the Merrell Wilderness is? I just realized they do not have gortex. Duh...

They will be used for upland bird hunting and portaging more than anything else. So while they will not be submerged for more than a moment humping a canoe around, bird hunting in the Upper Peninsula can be a pretty wet endeavor.

Help????

I don't have any personal experience with them. But in general, if they are not Gortex they will probably leak after a use or two. I have had wonderful experience with Gortex boots keeping my feet dry (on my third pair), but others tell me they have had mixed results or that they started leaking after a year or two (I wear out the soles by then!)
