Backpacking pack with MOLLE system - 08/11/11 03:27 PM
Hey guys/gals
This seems to be a pretty respected gear forum, so after much searching, I felt like you guys/gals could potentially help.
What I have been seeking for a while now is a 5 day use backpacking pack with a MOLLE system integrated into the pack. I have found many great packs out there that fit my needs, except for this one hitch. Much of my gear (knife, flightlight, a MOLLE rifle holster, pouches...ect...
All I have found are military assault bags, and would love to have something a little more geared towards lightweight backpacking.
Sorry if this was too long, but it's been a frustrating search.
Thank you all for your valuable time,
Fletch

You may want to try
www.ultralighthunter.com or some other hunting setup. The one above boasts a 25lb total weight for 4 days. But try searching on light weight or ultralight hunting backpacks.

You may have to think a little outside the box on this one.

I was in the military far too long ago to be familiar with the MOLLE system (we had the KNAPSACK system of WWII vintage.)
This is second-hand, but I read a review somewhere that indicated Granite Gear's Ultralight hipbelt was compatible with MOLLE gear. I looked on their website, and noticed they also sell a "tactical" pack line. You might want to check some of their stuff out, just don't get your hopes up based on my skimpy knowledge.

One thing I don't have in my vocabulary is "give up."
I do appreciate the replies so far. Any more recommendations would be extremely helpful as well.
I am currently checking out those tactical packs.
Thanks all for your time,

If you just need attachment points on the pack body a few min. with a sewing machine and some 1in. web will put them where you want them.

I agree, its not that hard to add them if you just need them in a few spots. A sewing maching might not work though, depending on where you want them, and the layout of the pack. Nylon webbing is available at most fabric stores, or can be ordered online, and the sewing wouldn't be that hard, even if it has to be done by hand.

Kifaru will serve you well. I have a few of their packs and they are top notch. If you are planning on using the pack on hunts, and really need to carry a rifle with it, it STRONGLY SUGGEST and Eberlestock pack. Their Gunslinger models are the witches titties. I use one on long hunts when I need to horse ride in a few days to get to camp
