Just did Nextag search for Marmot precip Pants. I found Oregon Moutain Community , Had them for 59.00 with free shiping. I could not pass this up. I bought a Marmot driclime windshirt last year, and per weight it is the most awsome garmet I have ever owned! I am sure precip pants will be just as awsome! Happy Trails

I've got a pair I bought used from a TLB member. $59 is a good price. I don't think you'll be disapppointed. I've worn mine winter camping, snowshoeing and skiing. You should like the full zip feature-very useful when it gets warm and you can get them on and off without taking off your boots.

I have owned a pair for years; they are primarily winter pants these days since they are much more durable than my Golite Reeds and have a full-zip. They are great pants and you will be happy with your purchase; $59 is a steal!.

Slightly OT; I had a precip jacket for years and I really liked it. It fit well, had pit zips and a good hood. After each sweaty use I would hose it off with the garden hose. This went on for a long time, until recently I washed it in a machine. The white membrane lining flaked off entirely around the neckline, rendering it less than waterproof and pretty ugly. I really knew better that doing that but it had gotten pretty funky and the gentle cycle was very gentle... I also have the precip hat which is my most beloved piece of outdoor gear. I hose it often and after years of continuous and very hard use it still functions and looks great.

Machine washing also flaked off the white stuff on my beloved Precip in exactly the same area....

Machine washing, especially in a top loader with agitator will destroy almost anything with a liner like a Precip. Never happened to me with a jacket, but I did ruin a really nice balaclava that way. My theory is that it just tears up the fabric as it catches on whatever else in in there, but perhaps the kind of detergent adds to the problem.

I wouldn't think of putting any kind of technical clothing in a washer, except maybe in a front loader with the garment in a mesh bag of some sort. Even that might be too much.
