I need one of those Russian can openers for my collection.

wow, that is quite a collection. i have #11. do you have more info and stories about them? is that a spoon on one end of #1 and #2? i can't tell from the photos if its concaved enough.

Yes, a small spoon. About the size of a thumb print and very slightly concave.

I also have a Vietnam era p38 still in the original wrapper, never opened.

I use the base of a Vargo Triad XE Ti stove B/C I can fit 2 ESBIT or FireLite tabs in when I want a faster boil. My BPL Ti folding stove holds only one tab so that's my survival kit stove.

But I do use my Triad EX base a lot lately and its other good feature is that I can blow out unused tabs & re-use them the next meal. I just put the Triad XE & left-over tabs still stuck to it into a small ziploc sandwich bag to keep my "cook bag" kit clean.

If an ESBIT stove can't hold partially burned tabs when stored it's a PITA.
