Hey I was skiing on a good inch of nice snow over groomed at Mt Bachelor on the 28th. Its snowed every day since then in Bend. I keep thinking I should get in a last Winter camping trip. It was 23 at my house last night - might be in the teens tonight. Its 3800 feet of elevation here. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

Anyway the point is the wierd weather again. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" /> I read where one of the physical manifestations of global warming is higher speeds in the rising columns of air in storm clouds. This means that hail can grow larger and be cycled up and down through the wind growing until its heavy enough to break out, and snow can be lifted and grow into those little styrofoam looking balls that look like hail but are mostly hollow. called grapel BTW <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

Turbulence in the planetary wind flow seems to be growing and theres a point in Chaos [some refer to as "the tipping point"] <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />where suddenly laminar flows will start to have eddies and then ANY weather can happen. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />I expect more extreme hail storms like the one here in Central Oregon last year that damaged cars and injured livestock. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> Can you imagine what a golf ball sized piece of ice falling <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" /> - how fast - could do? Say atleast 100 feet per second and weigh maybe an ounce - that could severly injure a human. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

I guess I can't complain compared to people being washed away and killed by tornados, atleast I can ski in May. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

IT snowed for about 10 minutes here in Spokane today...

We had a record 2 feet of snowfall last weekend here in Anchorage, Alaska & it was snowing this morning.

Not much extra precip here in L.A. but we've had an unusually windy winter and spring so far. At least in my neck of the woods.

Well at least I don't feel so alone now, lol. We got 4 inches of snow up here in Fairbanks yesterday. It wasn't light either, it was that horribly heavy wet stuff. At a few points yesterday I coudln't even see more than 50 yards out of my window or while I was driving.

This time last year there wasn't much for snow on the gorund at all. This year, everytime it seems we're about to be rid of it another system moves in and dumps on us again. But, that's Alaska for you I suppose.
