PSA:

I have no vested interest in this post other than it is a great time and a chance for people to learn to tele ski.

SUNDAY RIVER Maine Telefest:

http://www.sundayriver.com/Press%20Release...Maine_Tele.html

or

http://www.netelemark.com/mainefest03.htm

It is run by a good friend of mine Biff Higgison who is a multi-talented artist and poetic tele skier..........he is a PSIA level III Nordic Instructor.

It is a good time and a chance to learn how to tele ski.

While not technically backpacking, all the skills I have learned have benefited me in the bc while skiing..........

Looks to be a fun time, where at least there is some snow this year. Down here in Nj there has'nt been much of anything worthy of calling it a snowfall, more like flurries <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

You should come.

It is a great time and we have TONS of snow in Maine (especially in the Western Mountain region of Maine where SR is).........

I am skiing everyday out my door and in the woods with the dogs........When I have to be at work at 630am I go out with the headlamp..........simply gorgeous.......

I have been on skis 50 days already.........

I used to XC ski up in the Rangely's & did my share of it and snowmobiling up in the Jackman region. We used to run across the Border up there and camp a few days, and run back down to Jackman <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" /> Ah the memories <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> Somewhere I have a picture of me running the trail groomer/tractor for the jackman snowmobile club....

Ah, Western maine, a place where if you step off the trail to answer Nature's call yer' up to your hips in the white stuff <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Thanks for the invite just the same; maybe it can be squeezed in next year's adventures.
