First time I've pulled or torn a muscle. A too-quick acceleration caused a muscle issue in my calf. I actually heard/felt the POP!

I'm walking with quite a limp and can't take any weight when flexing my foot. I've scheduled a long-ish hike in August that's 6 weeks away.

I'll start easy stretching exercises in the next day or two and continue until I have no pain, then I'll hit the trail again for some easy miles, working up to normal as I can. I'm usually a fast healer, so it seems that there's a good chance I could make the planned hike if I take it easy on the rehab.

I've been on trail most weekends for the last six weeks so I'm in the best shape of my hiking life so far. Is it wishful thinking that I'll be ready for August?

Thanks,

Swammie
