Sponsor a Page!

For example -- Pack Lite Foods is sponsoring the Food Index Page in The Lightweight Gear Store and the Lite Food Discussion Forum in the TLB Discussion Forums. Their banner flies high over these pages and is hot linked directly to their store. They also list their products in the Gear Store -- read about that, below. You can make an offer to sponsor any page you desire. Banners are to be only standard size (468 x 60 pixels) and with a theme that blends well with the rest of the website. You can have the banner linked to your site or not. All prices are negotiated on a case-by-case basis. We accept only monthly (3 month minimum) or yearly contracts. We provide service in return for negotiated flat fees only -- the per-click method is not used here!

Backcountry Equipment from Small Manufacturers

Our most recent offering is the Cottage Gear Store. This store (1) recognizes the value of the alternative gear contributions that the Cottage-gear makers provide to the backcountry community and (2) provides an affordable advertising vehicle for these manufacturers, in order that they may achieve the visibility they deserve for their fine products.

One of the unique features of this store is the "Ask the Gear Makers" discussion forum. In the forum, you may engage the gear makers directly with questions related to technical specifications and product performance. This type of discussion is helpful both to you and to the gear makers.

Submit Your Gear For Testing & Review

Your gear will be tested, reviewed & the review published at The Lightweight Backpacker for all to see along with pictures and a link to your website of choice. You can also publish the review at your own website or anywhere else you desire. The review will also be published in The Lightweight Gear Review Message Forum. This is a very good & inexpensive means of advertising your products, especially if you are trying to reach the lightweight/ultralight backcountry community. Gear Sales

List & Link Your Products in The Gear Store

This is typically done in conjunction with Gear Testing & Review (see above) wherein gear is tested, reviewed, and listed in The Gear Store. If we cannot find a supplier for your product -- so that we can sell it directly from The Gear Store -- you can hotlink your product(s) to any website of your choosing. It doesn't necessarily require gear testing to be listed in the Gear Store, however, keep in mind, that one of the attributes of The Gear Store that customers appreciate are the gear reviews that co-exist along with the gear listing. Gear listed without a review is an unknown quantity and folks will treat it accordingly.

Create Your Own Page in The Gear Shop

If you are a large manufacturer or retail store or otherwise carry a variety of ultralight and lightweight products, you can create your own page. The (put your name here) Lightweight Page will carry only your products with their corresponding gear reviews. We can negotiate a set price or we can become your affiliate on a commission basis - no less than 10% per sale.

Become a Supplier of Gear to The Gear Store

If you have an on-line outdoor equipment retail store or otherwise sell products of interest -- online -- and would like to sell equipment through The Lightweight Gear Store, we should negotiate an agreement to do so. We have experience with large affiliate programs as well as working one-on-one with retail stores and gear manufacturers. Lots of options, here, please feel free to inquire. Again, fees for service are negotiated on a case-by-case basis and run the gamut from cash, cash + products, or products entirely.

Traffic at The Lightweight Backpacker

As of 3/8/2004, the Lightweight Backpacking website receives approximately 150,000 hits and 1.3 gigabytes of traffic on a daily basis. Much of that occurs in the TLB Forums, Gear Store and Home Page.
